About
The mission of the National Liver Registry (NLR) is to save and improve the lives of people facing liver failure by increasing the quality, speed, and number of living donor transplants in the world while protecting all living liver donors.
Three main initiatives help the NLR achieve this goal:
- The Microsite Program: Offers free, personalized websites to help patients find potential donors, as well as free coaching.
- Donor Shield: Provides financial assistance to living liver donors, including reimbursement for lost wages and donation-related expenses.
- DASH (Donor Automated Screening & History): Donor screening intake platform that streamlines the registration process for donors.
The NLR launched its first liver microsite in 2022. Since then, liver microsites have led to over 3,000 donor registrations resulting in over 35 successful liver transplants. Currently there are over 150 liver microsites in use to support individuals in their living donor search.
